Fiber Crafts Shown
I loved sharing my finished object, my very first knitwear design, the Calville shawl with you in this episode. The entire process of knitting this shawl was a joy, from original inspiration to casting off. I said in my video that the shawl would be in testing by now- but it isn’t yet. I still need to adjust a few things. I’ll share more pattern specifics (hopefully) soon.
My Elizabeth I from Tudor Roses by Alice Starmore is so close to being finished! All four pieces are done and all that is left is the neckband and the seams! This project was knit in Virtual Yarns Hebridean 2 ply yarn in the Machair colorway.
I also shared my Shawlography progress. Shawlography is a pattern by Stephen West, for this years MKAL (mystery shawl knit along). This is my first year participating and I am truly embracing my own pace for this project. 😉 I am using Woll Butt yarn Versailles yarn in the shades “Tanne”, “Taupe”, “Dunkelbraun”, and “Dunkelrot” as well as the Wool Butt Britney yarn in the shade “Creme”.
Acquisitions
While in America Alexandra of November Woods Fiber Co. and I did a yarn swap. She sent me two 100 gram skins of her beautiful Birch base in the colorway Foxprints, and one of her Lighthouse Keeper Mini Skein sets! She still has some of those mini skein sets in her shop, so grab one if while you can!
My other (very serendipitous) acquisition was the book Knitted Tams by Mary Rowe. I can’t wait to design and knit up my very own tam soon.
I look forward to catching up with you again next week!
