Show Notes: Knitting my Dream Cabled Sweater

Works in Progress:

My Overvintering Mini is nearly finished! Only the a sleeve and a half left and then I’ll have this sweet little pattern off the needles. This pattern is by Enya Ødegaard / Aftenstrikk and knit in Rauma Finullgarn in beige (main color), green, and brown.

I loved working on my garment of the moment: the Anne of Cleves by Jade Starmore from the book Tudor Roses by Alice Starmore. I’m knitting it in Jamieson and Smith Chunky yarn in the colorway Fuchsia. It is truly flying of the needles (especially considering the complex nature of the project). The cable motifs are so unique, it is absolutely my dream cabled sweater.

I cast on a pair of socks for my father in law using leftover yarn I had in my stash. My mother in law requested these for him, and I was happy to oblige! I am planning on doing an afterthought heel. This is the tutorial/pattern that I have used before, and will use for this pattern as well.

Seasonal Pleasures

I have been enjoying the Calm Christmas podcast by Beth Kempton (also author of the book “Calm Christmas”). It is the perfect thing to listen to if you want to get in the wintry Christmas mood, and enjoy the simpler things this season. Please give it a listen! I heard about it through my friend Harriet of Wild Wood Stitches. She makes some of the most beautiful project bags, you must take a look at her website.
