Christmas is a joyful spiritual celebration for our family. My hope was that this year we could start a tradition of pausing each day in the anticipation of Christmas and be reminded of who Christ is and was to us. I chose 24 names/attributes of God and assigned one to each day. There are many more wonderful names and attributes one could use, but these are the ones I chose this year!
A Brief Hanging Star Advent Calendar How-To:
I cut 24 stars out of a cardboard envelope and painted them all using acrylic paints in gold, silver, red, and green. I wrote the numbers on one side and the name of the other, poked holes into the stars, and used beige cotton scrap yarn to tie them to a stick we found in the forest. I tied a length of that same yarn to each end of the stick to hang the calendar from a nail on our wall, but before hanging I wrapped the yarn with wintry foliage and festive dried clementines. My tutorial on how to dry citrus can be found here.
