It took me a while to get this video uploaded (lots of technical difficulties) but I am so glad to finally share it with you. I had two finished objects to share this episode- one knitting and one sewing!
Fiber Crafts Shown
Knitting Finished Object
I finally finished my project for the #welcoomespringknitalong hosted by Martina Elizabetta of We Grow Wild and the Wild Knitting Podcast. My first attempt at designing a garment for myself from scratch, I have come up with a romantic (also very summery) textured yoke top using Drops Bomull in the darkest brown colorway. The texture is inspired by butterflies fluttering through late summer brambles. I love the way this project turned out, and I think I may try knitting it again (especially to fix the one little “issue” I had with the overly long yoke).
Knitting Works In Progress
I cast on the Ballerina Wrap Top by Two of Wands, which is available for free though the link on her blog, or for download on Ravelry. I am using some special yarn that my Grandmother gave to me from her stash. Knit Picks Wool of the Andies in the colorway “Victorian” (which is unfortunately discontinued). I have already separated for the sleeves, and am loving this project.
Sewing
I finished my very first garment! The Poppy Dress by Hubba Ding . It was the perfect project for a beginner, and though it has its “flaws”, I am in love with it and know it is going to get lots of wear this coming season! It is made out of a lovely pumpkin/terracotta double gauze muslin.
I have ordered new fabric and can’t wait to get sewing on my next project!
I hope you enjoyed this little crafting update. As usual, I’d love to hear what you are knitting and making! Feel free to tag me on instagram, and message me. It is always lovely to chat!
